WEEK 1: Neuroscience Capstone Options Overview

Monday, January 8th, 2024 @ Noon via Zoom

This workshop will cover the three different capstone options for students pursuing the Neuroscience major (independent research, lab methods, Project Brainstorm & DOPA-Team) and review the process for how to enroll in the independent research contract courses (NEUROSC 199A/B and NEUROSC 198A/B).

WEEK 2: Departmental Honors Information Session

Tuesday, January 16th, 2024 @ Noon via Zoom

This workshop will provide an overview of the departmental honors program, including honors contracts, capstone requirement, and honors seminar (NEUROSC 191H). Students can find more information about departmental honors here:

WEEK 5: Career and Pre-Health Resources for Life Sciences Students

Wednesday, February 7th, 2024 @ 4:00 p.m. in Career Center Room 200

Starting to think about the future but not sure where to start? A representative from the UCLA Career Center will present on the various resources available to students in the Life Sciences to help them prepare for their future career pathway!

WEEK 0: Neuro Connect

Tuesday, September 26th, 2023 @ 2:00PM in the Neuroscience Research Building Auditorium 132

Learn tips for a successful transition into the upper division major courses and how to get involved in research, student organizations, and other outreach opportunities in the neuroscience program.

WEEK 1: Neuroscience Major/Minor Information Session

Are you interested in switching your major to neuroscience? Or declaring the neuroscience minor?

Attendees will learn the following: The steps to declare the major/minor, lower division major/minor requirements, upper division major/minor requirements and learn about the departmental honors program.

Attendees will learn:

How to enroll in SRP 99 contracts
Advice on how to find a research position & how to contact faculty.

Week 7: Study Abroad as a Neuroscience Major

Monday, November 13th @ 12:00PM in Gonda 1357

Come learn about programs abroad where you can take courses related to your major. We will address the application process, eligibility, academic planning, financial aid, and studying outside of your major, among other topics.
